SpeechDone: Voice Keyboard

Getting Started

  1. Open the SpeechDone app and tap Open Settings.
  2. Go to Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard and select SpeechDone.
  3. Tap SpeechDone in the list and enable Allow Full Access (required for the server connection).
  4. In any text field, tap the globe icon to switch to the SpeechDone keyboard.
  5. Tap and hold the microphone button, speak, then release. Your text appears automatically.

Common Questions

Why does the keyboard need Full Access?
SpeechDone sends your audio to our server for transcription. Without Full Access, a keyboard extension cannot reach the internet. Audio is sent over HTTPS and immediately discarded after transcription.

The microphone permission is not appearing.
Open the SpeechDone main app (not the keyboard) and follow the setup prompt. Microphone access is granted to the main app, which handles all audio recording. The keyboard uses the main app as a relay.

How do I change the dictation language?
Tap the language flag chip at the top of the keyboard, or set your preferred language in the SpeechDone app settings.

How do rewrite styles work?
Tap the style chip (top-left corner of the keyboard) to choose: Polished (natural, clean), Professional (formal), Casual (relaxed), Concise (short), or Exact (only punctuation and capitalisation corrected, wording unchanged). Exact and Translate require Pro.

What is the free word limit?
Free accounts get 2,000 words per week. Your usage resets every Monday. Upgrade to Pro for unlimited dictation.

How do I cancel my Pro subscription?
Open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone or iPad and cancel SpeechDone Pro from there. Apple manages all subscription billing.

How do I delete my account and data?
Open the SpeechDone app, go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This removes all server-side data immediately. Local data stays on your device until you delete the app.
